(UTV | TRINCOMALEE) – Pakistan would always be standing beside Sri Lanka whenever it needs Pakistan’s support, the Acting High Commissioner of Pakistan Tanvir Ahmad emphasised.
In a ceremony held on Thursday (07) at the Divisional Secretariat Trincomalee in connection with the World Children’s Day National Celebrations 2021, the Acting High Commissioner handed over 60 desktop computers, sports goods and school bags, to the State Minister for Women and Child Development, Pre School and Primary Education, School Infrastructure and School Services Piyal Nishantha de Silva, on behalf of the Government of Pakistan.
While addressing the ceremony, the Acting High Commissioner said that the relations between Pakistan and Sri Lanka are firmly standing on the pillars of mutual trust, respect and desire to promote friendship. This relationship is independent of any compulsions.
He assured that Pakistan would always be standing beside Sri Lanka whenever it needs Pakistan’s support and hoped that the provision of desktop computers and sports equipment will benefit the deserving students, particularly during the testing times of COVID-19 pandemic.
State Minister Piyal Nishantha de Silva thanked the Acting High Commissioner and the Government of Pakistan for the provision of much needed IT and sports equipment.
