Young boy from Sri Lankan refugee camp in Tiruchi drowns

(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – Young boy from Sri Lankan refugee camp in Tiruchi has died from drowning, The Hindu reported.

U. Rohit (12), who resided in the Kottapattu Sri Lankan Tamil refugee camp, drowned in a pond at Khajamalai in Tiruchi.

The boy, a fourth standard student in a private school at Subramaniapuram in Tiruchi, had gone to a pond for fishing along with his friends when the tragedy occurred.

The body was retrieved and sent to the Government Hospital. The K.K. Nagar police have registered a case.
