‘Students can start A/Ls without Aesthetics results’

(UTV | COLOMBO) – The Ministry of Education has decided to issue a special circular citing the minimum qualifications required for the admission of students who sat for Aesthetics subjects at the 2020 GCE Ordinary Level Examination in order to begin Advanced Level classes.

Secretary of the Ministry Kapila Perera said students who sat for Aesthetic subjects with five passes including two credit passes and have a skill level of between one and four will be able to enter Advanced Level classes until the results of the O/Level Aesthetics examinations are released.

The Secretary speaking at a media briefing this morning said students will not face any injustice despite the delay in releasing the results related to Aesthetic subjects.

He said around 170,000 students sat for Aesthetic subjects at the examination.

As the practical examinations of Aesthetic subjects were not conducted, the results of the subject have been withheld.

The practicals of Aesthetic Studies will be conducted after schools are reopened.
