“Mean Girls” Musical Movie Sets Helmers

(UTV | COLOMBO) -Paramount Players has hired filmmakers Arturo Perez Jr. and Samantha Jayne to direct the upcoming film adaptation of the stage musical “Mean Girls”.

The film is a direct adaptation of the 2018 Broadway production which itself is based on Tina Fey’s 2004 modern cult classic. The play played its final performance the day before Broadway shut down due to the pandemic.

No cast has been set yet but the original stage stars won’t be returning. “Saturday Night Live” creator Lorne Michaels is producing along with Fey with the latter writing the script.
