46 Sri Lankan refugees return home

(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – A group of 46 Sri Lankan Tamil refugees returned to their homeland by flight from the Tiruchi international airport, The Hindu reported.

Airport sources said the refugees who had entered the country were housed in camps in districts including Virudhunagar, Salem, Namakkal, Erode and Sivaganga.

The refugees came to the airport on Thursday morning and boarded the Sri Lankan Airlines flight to Colombo.

They were repatriated to their homeland following permission accorded by the government, the sources said.
