Education unions continue with island wide protests

(UTV | COLOMBO) – The General Secretary of the Ceylon Teachers’ Union Joseph Stalin stated that the discussion held between the teachers’ and principals’ unions engaged in a strike and the Secretary of Education Prof. Kapila Perera yesterday(16) to resolve the issue of salary anomalies also failed.

Meanwhile, the President of the Sri Lanka Public Education Services Association Wasantha Handapangoda who participated in the discussion stated that there was unrest among the teachers’ unions engaged in the strike during the meeting.

Today is the 68th day of the trade union action, including the withdrawal from online teaching, which has been launched over the issue of teacher-principal salary anomalies.
