An archaeological landmark in Yemen threatened with collapse

(UTV | YEMEN) – The Ahl al-Kahf Mosque is located in the cloud-covered town of Al-Maqab, which is also known as Ahl al-Kahf town, in Al-Arous summit in Jabal Sabr, which belongs to the Taiz Governorate, southern Yemen.

Evidence and Yemeni historical books show that this mosque belongs to the cave owners mentioned in the Qur’an, and the history of the mosque’s ancient site is unknown, although some of the buildings and accessories date back to nine hundred years ago.

The mosque suffered significant damage in several of its facilities as a consequence of the rains and the time, amid negligence by the government or authorities in charge of the monuments.
