Violating lockdown regulations: Over 650 arrested

(UTV | COLOMBO) – In the last 24 hours, 667 persons have been arrested for violating quarantine regulations.

The Police Media Division stated that 60,288 persons have been arrested so far for violating quarantine regulations issued to curb the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.

They noted that 13 blockades have been set up at 13 entry and exit points to the Western Province.

Accordingly, 901 persons travelling in 500 vehicles were inspected at the exit from the Western Province and 1,128 persons travelling in 641 vehicles were inspected at the entry to the Western Province.
