Karadiyana Case To Be Heard Today

(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – The case pertaining to dumping the garbage from Meethotamulla in Karadiyana, Piliyandala will be taken up for consideration today at the Kesbewa Magistrate’s Court.

Court issued an order recently directing 350 metric tonnes of garbage collected by the Colombo Municipal Council to be dumped at the Karadiyana garbage yard in Piliyandala.

However the garbage could not be dumped at the yard due to opposition from area residents.

Police intervened in the matter as area residents and employees of the Urban Council continued to block the Lorries.

The order was issued by Kesbewa Chief Magistrate Gihan Ranawaka.
