Another 76,000 doses of Pfizer vaccines taken to SPC

(UTV | COLOMBO) – Another cargo containing 76,000 doses of Pfizer BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine vials has been flown into the country from the United States of America and freighted by Qatar Cargo Airways, the airport duty manager said.

He said the consignment weighing 476kg and packed in 14 boxes touched down at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) around 2.15 am.

The consignment was originally flown from Amsterdam in the Netherlands to Doha, Qatar and from there the consignment was brought to Colombo by Qatar airways.

The vaccines were then stored at the air cargo freezer storage and subsequently transported to the Sri Lanka Pharmaceuticals Corporation (SLPC) warehouse, the Duty Manager further confirmed.
