Importers call for price increase of milk powder

(UTV | COLOMBO) – Importers of milk powder have requested the Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) to allow them to increase the price of milk powder in line with the increased fuel prices.

The companies have informed the CAA in writing that they are making the request due to the increase in the price of milk powder in the world market and the increase in shipping charges.

They have demanded an increase of Rs. 350 per kilogramme of milk powder being sold at Rs. 945 and Rs. 140 increase from the 400 gram packet being sold now at Rs. 380.
