“In Bruges” team reunite for “Banshees”

(UTV | COLOMBO) – In 2008 writer/director Martin McDonagh exploded onto the scene with the critically acclaimed and beloved cult dark comedy hit “In Bruges” starring Colin Farrell, Brendan Gleeson and Ralph Fiennes.

His second film, “Seven Psychopaths,” failed to take off but then his third film “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri” went on to win two acting Oscars and draw some controversy.

Now, for his fourth effort, he’s confirmed to be reuniting with Farrell and Gleeson for his next film “The Banshees of Inisherin” with shooting on that to kick off in August in Galway, Ireland

Set on a remote island off the Irish coast, the pair will play longtime friends who experience tension when one of them suddenly decides they no longer want to be friends. Expect the usual McDonagh touches of acidic insults and memorable dialogue laced with profanity.

“The Banshees of Inisherin” is expected to hit screens sometime in 2022.
