Netflix sets “Far Cry,” “Splinter Cell” series

(UTV | COLOMBO) – Netflix and Ubisoft’s Film & Television division are expanding their relationship with two “Far Cry” adult anime series ordered by the streamer.

One of the two is the six-episode “Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix” which is based on the “Far Cry 3” DLC “Blood Dragon”. That series hails from Adi Shankar and will feature alter egos of Ubisoft characters in a highly-referenced homage to the early 1990s.

The other is based on the main games with the creative team for that series still being assembled. Helene Juguet, Hugo Revon, and Gerard Guillemot have been confirmed as producers.

As part of the announcement, new details have also emerged about Ubisoft’s planned eight-episode “Splinter Cell” anime series which hails from “John Wick” executive producer Derek Kolstad.

The story follows former U.S. Navy SEAL Sam Fisher after he is recruited by the NSA to work for the mysterious Third Echelon division within the agency.

All three projects join the still in development or the works at Netflix alongside the proposed “Assassin’s Creed” TV series which has stalled.
