Politicians’ involvement in vaccination cannot be condoned

(UTV | COLOMBO) – Any involvement of politicians in the vaccination programme cannot be condoned. Some politicians are interfering in the vaccination to gain undue publicity thereby putting the Government in to disrepute. Healthcare officials, therefore, should be given the whole responsibility and leadership in the national vaccination procedure, Renewable Energy Resources Development State Minister Duminda Dissanayake said.

The State Minister was addressing the Ipologama COVID- 19 Prevention Steering Committee recently. He said that even though it was true that every citizen of the country shall be vaccinated, top priority shall be given to Government employees who were in the forefront of the COVID battle.
