(UTV | COLOMBO) – Emily Blunt is set to lead the six-part fast-paced epic western “The English” for Drama Republic, The BBC and Amazon Studios.
Chaske Spencer, Rafe Spall, Tom Hughes, Stephen Rea, Toby Jones, Ciaran Hinds, Valerie Pachner, Malcolm Storry, Steve Wall, Nichola McAuliffe, and Cristian Solimeno also star.
Set in 1890, Blunt plays an Englishwoman who arrives in the American West to wreak revenge on the man she sees as responsible for the death of her son.
Upon meeting Eli Whipp (Spencer), an ex-cavalry scout and member of the Pawnee Nation by birth, they join forces and discover a shared history that must be defeated at all cost.
Hugo Blick (“Black Earth Rising,” “The Honourable Woman”) created and produces the series which will air on BBC One in the UK and Amazon Prime in the U.S., Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
