PHIs warn of Indian COVID-variants entering country

(UTV | COLOMBO) – Sri Lanka Public Health Inspectors’ (PHI) Union warned against the risk of new Indian COVID-19 variants entering Sri Lanka.

Union President Upul Rohana said the country is currently undergoing a critical situation and if the Indian variants enter the country the situation will worsen.

India has had more COVID-19 cases in the last 7-days than anywhere else in the world. Experts believe the real death toll may be higher than the official numbers.
