Opposition raises concern over authority of China’s Embassy to organise visits to Port City

(UTV | COLOMBO) – The Opposition today (21) raised concerns in Parliament over the authority of the China’s Embassy in Colombo to organise visits to the Colombo Port City for Parliamentarians.

The study visit to the Colombo Port City was scheduled to take place tomorrow (22) following Parliamentary sittings. However, a text message was sent by Parliament to Parliamentarians informing the visit organised by the China’s Embassy had been postponed.

Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) Parliamentarian Harshana Rajakaruna questioned the authority of the China’s Embassy to organise visits for Parliamentarians to property which belongs to Sri Lanka in Colombo as the Urban Development Authority (UDA) organised such visits in the past.

Rajakaruna called on Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena to look into the matter.
