Jacob Tremblay joins “Toxic Avenger” reboot

Jacob Tremblay (“Room,” “Doctor Sleep,” “Good Boys”) is set to co-star with Peter Dinklage in Macon Blair’s new reimagining of Troma’s iconic low-budget “Toxic Avenger” comedy franchise at Legendary.

When a struggling everyman is pushed into a vat of toxic waste, he is transformed into a mutant freak who must go from shunned outcast to underdog hero as he races to save his son, his friends and his community from the forces of corruption and greed.

Lloyd Kaufman and Michael Herz will serve as producers on the new take which follows in the wake of multiple films, a stage musical production, a children’s cartoon TV series and a Marvel comic.

Tremblay will next will voice Flounder in Disney’s upcoming live-action adaptation of “The Little Mermaid” and voices one of the characters in Pixar’s “Luca”.
