China’s Defence Minister to arrive in Sri Lanka

(UTV | COLOMBO) – China’s State Councillor and Defence Minister Wei Fenghe to arrive in Sri Lanka later this month to hold bilateral discussions with the Government.

According to sources at the Foreign Ministry quoted by the Daily Mirror, the final dates of General Wei’s arrival are yet to be received but the visit is confirmed to take place after the Sinhala and Tamil New Year.

This will be one of the highest level visits undertaken by a China’s Government Official since President Gotabaya Rajapaksa assumed the Office.
