“Uncharted” Film delayed by a week

(UTVNEWS | COLOMBO) – It’s nearly a year out, but Sony’s planned film adaptation of the “Uncharted” game franchise has been delayed again – this time though by only a week.

The Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg-led film will now open February 18th 2022, rather than February 11th.

It marks the eighth release date change for the title which saw a revolving door of directors until the current version with Ruben Fleischer helming.

The film follows the adventures of young treasure hunter Nathan Drake (Holland) travelling the globe in search of mythical artifacts. This version is set before those of the games and so follows a younger Drake than we’ve previously seen.

Wahlberg plays Sully, a fellow treasure hunter and mentor to Nathan while Sophia Ali plays fellow fortune hunter Chloe Frazer. Antonio Banderas and Tati Gabrielle also star.
