“Attack on Titan” gets more episodes

(UTVNEWS | COLOMBO) – In a surprise announcement, the fourth and final season of Studio MAPPA’s critically-acclaimed anime TV series “Attack on Titan” isn’t so final after all.

The show aired the sixteenth and seemingly last episode of the fourth season, and the 75th overall, a few hours ago and an ending that left on a cliffhanger. But at the end came a promo revealing that Episode 76 is in the works.

Shortly after the show’s official Twitter account revealed that brand new episodes would be kick-off as part of Japan’s winter 2022 schedule (ie. sometime in the December 2021 – March 2022 corridor).

Then ScreenRant published a report that “Attack on Titan: The Final Season Part 2” will consist of up to 23 episodes, however MAPPA hasn’t stated how many episodes there will be in that now truly final installment.

The manga series upon which the show is based is wrapping up next month so it’s quite likely the anime’s final episodes will follow that source material.
