“The Last Wish” set dates

Universal Pictures has set dates for two upcoming DreamWorks Animation movies.

First is “Puss in Boots: The Last Wish,” the sequel to the Oscar-nominated 2011 “Shrek” spin-off film starring Antonio Banderas, which will arrive on September 23rd 2022.

In the film Puss discovers that his passion for adventure has taken its toll: He has burned through eight of his nine lives, leaving him with only one left. He sets out on an epic journey to find the mythical Last Wish and restore his nine lives.

The other is “The Bad Guys” which will open on April 15th 2022. That follows five notorious bad guys who’ve been behind big heists – Mr. Wolf, Mr. Snake, Mr. Piranha, Mr. Shark and Ms. Tarantula – as they attempt their most challenging job yet…going good.

That’s not the only date changes today. Focus Features will be releasing Kenneth Branagh’s late 1960s coming of age tale “Belfast” on November 12th this year.

Jamie Dornan and Caitriona Balfe play a passionate working-class couple caught up in the mayhem, with Judi Dench and Ciaran Hinds as sharp-witted grandparents to 10 year-old Jude Hill.

Next, John Lee’s new thriller “False Positive” for A24 will arrive on Hulu on June 25th. The film stars the likes of Ilana Glazer, Justin Theroux, Sophia Bush, Gretchen Mol and Pierce Brosnan.

In the movie a couple struggling with fertility and the seemingly perfect doctor who helps them achieve their dreams of becoming parents. But everything isn’t as it seems.

Finally, Aniplex of America and Funimation have announced an April 23rd North American release of “Demon Slayer: Mugen Train” with both a subtitled and English dubbed version.

This adaptation of the popular manga series follows a young boy who joins an elite group of demon slayers in order to find a cure for his sister. The film has surpassed “Your Name” and “Spirited Away” to become the highest-grossing movie at the Japanese box office ever.
