Iranaitivu residents launch protest against burying of COVID-victims in the Island

(UTV | COLOMBO) – Residents of Iranaitivu Island in the Gulf of Mannar have launched a protest against the Government’s decision to bury the remains of COVID-victims in Sri Lanka.

According to the locals, they strongly object to the Government’s decision as they have no risk of COVID-19.

About 165 families are currently residing in the island.
