(UTV | COLOMBO) – Discussions are underway on the possibility of receiving 500 to 600 expatriates into the country from overseas on a daily basis, and the conduct of PCR tests and the quarantine process, Army Commander Shavendra Silva said.
The repatriation of Sri Lankans stranded overseas resumed from November 16, which was suspended after the emergence of the second COVID-19 wave in the country, early October.
Currently, Sri Lanka brings less than 250 expatriates to the island each day.
