Repatriation Flights to continue amid tourist flights

(UTV | COLOMBO) – Tourism Minister Prasanna Ranatunga yesterday confirmed that repatriation flights will continue to operate simultaneously along with commercial flights which would flying into Sri Lanka from January.

The minister also quoted Foreign Ministry reports which said that a total of 45,509 Sri Lankans had arrived via the Bandaranaike International Airport and the Mahinda Rajapaksa International Airport in Mattala as of November 30, 2020.

He quoted Foreign Ministry statistics as having said that for the period between March 10 to November 30, 2020, there were 33,063 arrivals at the BIA and 12, 446 at the MRIA.

The maximum number of Sri Lankan expatriates had arrived from the Middle Eastern region while the others were from the Asia Pacific region, Europe and the United Kingdom, Australia, Oman, Japan and Singapore.
