(UTV | COLOMBO) – The number of coronavirus deaths in Sri Lanka reached 107 yesterday(28).
With eight new deaths reported yesterday, the total Covid-19 fatalities in Sri Lanka surpassed 100 to stand at 107.
A woman, aged 87 years, died at home in Colombo 13 following Covid-19 complications, stroke and a heart attack.
A 69-year-old man from the same area succumbed to Covid-19 complications, chronic lung disease and asthma.
In Colombo 09, a woman (54) died and the death of a Covid-19 patient was reported from the Homagama Base Hospital.
The other deaths are from Maradana, Colombo 15, Colombo 10, Colombo 02 and Magazine Prison in Colombo.
The caseload increased to 22,501 with the finding of 473 new cases. Of them, 472 are contacts of the cluster at the fish market at Peliyagoda.
The other is a merchant sailor who arrived from overseas. A total of 6,168 patients remain hospitalized, while 16,226 have revered.
