Pharmacies, stores selling essential items allowed opening tomorrow

(UTV | COLOMBO) – The Head of the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO), Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva says quarantine curfew imposed to the entire Gampaha district, 21 Police areas in the Colombo district and five Police areas each in the Kalutara and the Gampaha districts will remain in place indefinitely.

Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva said stores selling essential items and pharmacies will be allowed to open between 8am and 10pm tomorrow adding that no restrictions have been imposed to those involved in essential duties.

The Army Commander added that police will facilitate the movement of those involved in essential services such as health sector workers.

The Army Commander also requested all persons to limit their movement irrespective of the area of residents.
