(UTV | COLOMBO) – The Health Ministry yesterday stated that there is no scientific evidence that the COVID-19 Coronavirus is transmitted to humans via well-cooked fish.
Acting Director General of Health said that the Coronavirus can be found on any surface, while preparing fish for storage or cooking. The health authorities have instructed people not to touch the face and utensils while handling fish and to wash hands thoroughly after preparing fish.
He further stated that there is no need to close fish markets so they can continue to do business while following the COVID-19 preventive guidelines issued by the health authorities.
