Health workers to undergo priority PCR Tests

(UTV | COLOMBO) – Health Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi yesterday stressed the importance of conducting PCR tests for health workers who are directly handling COVID-19 positive and suspected patients.

The Minister made this observation at a meeting held yesterday with trade union leaders of supplementary medicine and para medical services. She further pointed out that it was the responsibility of the health sector to protect health personnel working in health institutions.

Accordingly, the Minister has instructed the Health Ministry Secretary Dr. Sanjeewa Munasinghe, and acting Health Services Director General Dr. S.Sridharan to take immediate action to solve the problems the health workers who are in the forefront of suppressing COVID-19.
