Super prolific Ryan Murphy and his producing partner Ian Brennan have been given the green light for their limited series “Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story” at Netflix.
Wisconsin native Dahmer was one of America’s most notorious serial killers, his brutal killings and dismembering of well over a dozen men went on for over a decade into the early 1990s.
The new series will be largely told from the point of view of Dahmer’s victims, and dive into the police incompetence and apathy that allowed him to flourish. This includes dramatizations of at least ten instances when they had Dahmer red-handed but was repeatedly given a free pass by cops and judges.
Jeremy Renner and Ross Lynch have both played Dahmer in film before. Janet Mock and Carl Frankin are attached to direct while Mock will also serve as a writer on the series. Murphy, Brennan, Franklin and Mock will executive produce.
