Colin Farrell’s “The Batman” look confirmed

Fans were speculating about it all yesterday and now it has been confirmed – that is indeed Colin Farrell under a ton of make-up in “The Batman” trailer.

We know that Farrell is playing The Penguin in the film but his look was under wraps until this clip when a man with an almost ‘sinister Richard Kind’ look showed up three times in the clip – a ominous staring into the rain, a shootout scene, and a car chase scene where he manically says “this guy’s crazy!!”.

It was quickly worked out this was Farrell, who is straight up unrecognisable in this, but no-one from the production confirmed it until today when Mike Marino, the makeup artist in charge of Farrell’s look, confirmed that’s him on Instagram.

A few leftover details about the film have emerged after the panel over the weekend. It reportedly took almost a year to design the Batsuit and Batmobile, the look evolving as he continued penning his screenplay. Glyn Dillon designed the suit and Robert Pattinson played a big part in its look which is said to be very practical – an outfit he made himself and is still evolving. In addition his cowl has gashes in it as he’s been wearing it every night for over a year.

Reeves also his Gotham city won’t be like Burton’s “very, very theatrical, beautiful, beautiful sets” or Nolan’s “parts of Chicago and parts of Pittsburgh” modern city look. Instead his version will use Liverpool’s foundation of Gothic architecture and then “add all of the more modern structures in through CG”.

“The Batman” resumes production next month for release October next year. Check out a just released 4K version of the trailer below:
