UTV | COLOMBO – President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has issued an Extraordinary Gazette summoning the new Parliament.
Accordingly, a Presidential Proclamation bearing the signature of the Secretary to the Head of State Dr. PB Jayasundara states, the President by virtue of powers vested in him by Article 70 of the Constitution, summons the ninth Parliament for its inaugural sitting, at 09.30am on the 20th of August 2020.
Meanwhile the President issued several other Gazette notifications yesterday.
Accordingly, two Gazette Notifications were issued pertaining to the appointment of Mahinda Rajapaksa as Prime Minister and the appointment of Gamini Senarath as Secretary to the Premier.
Furthermore, Gazettes were also issued pertaining to the appointment of the new Cabinet Ministers, State Minsters, the new Secretaries to the Cabinet of Ministers and Ministry Secretaries yesterday.
