PHI to launch island wide token strike today

UTV | COLOMBO – The Public Health Inspectors will launch an island wide token strike today by reporting sick.

Speaking to a prominent online news portal in the isle, the Chairman of the Sri Lanka Public Health Inspectors Union Upul Rohana said the decision was reached by the Executive Committee.

The strike is being launched in protest to sufficient powers not being vested with PHI through the gazette notification issued with the health guidelines pertaining to the General Election.

Rohana added the PHI Union will once again convene on Monday and discuss matters further in order to reach further decisions over trade union action.
