New Navy Commander calls on Chief Prelate of Malwathu Chapter

UTV | COLOMBO – Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne after assuming office as Commander of the Navy, visited the Malwathu Maha Viharaya in Kandy and called on the Chief Prelate of Malwathu Chapter to receive the blessings yesterday.

The Chief Prelate of Malwathu Chapter, Most Ven. Thibbatuwawe Sri Siddhartha Thera invoked the blessings of the Triple Gem on the new Navy Commander and delivered a brief ‘Anushasana’ wishing him strength and courage to carry out the duties entrusted to him. The Chief Prelate of Malwathu Chapter also appreciated the operations conducted by the Navy, preventing persons infected with COVID – 19 from entering the country by sea.

Subsequently, the Navy Commander visited Anunayake of Malwathu Chapter, Most Ven. Dimbulkumbure Sri Saranankara Thera to obtain blessings. Giving wise counsel to the Navy Chief, the Anunayake Thera expressed his gratitude to the Navy for its contribution in bringing an end to 30 year long destructive war by destroying floating armouries of the LTTE. The Anunayake Thera also transferred blessings on the Navy to render a noble service, as the first line of defence of the country.

Anunayake of Malwathu Chapter, Most Ven. Niyangoda Dharma Keerthi Thera also invoked the blessings upon the Commander of the Navy for the successful execution of his future duties.
