BIA receives several new equipment

UTV | COLOMBO – Chairman of Airport and Aviation Services Limited, Rt. Major General GA Chandrasiri today oversaw the purchase of several equipment in order to enhance security and other facilities within the Bandaranaike International Airport.

The equipment, worth Rs.62 million, includes six x-ray machines, heat sensitive thermometers and several other equipment.

Our airport correspondent said the equipment will be able to scan electronic items, explosives, foreign currency, gold, narcotics and other goods during a short time span.
