COVID-19 recoveries in Sri Lanka rise to 2,023

UTV | COLOMBO – 11 persons who contracted the novel coronavirus have recovered and have been discharged from hospitals, increasing the number of COVID-19 recoveries in Sri Lanka to 2,023.

The Epidemiology Unit of the Ministry of Health said seven patients were discharged from the Kattankudy Base hospital during the past 24 hours while the National Institute of Infectious Diseases, Iranawila hospital, Minuwangoda Base hospital and the Kamburugamuwa District hospital released a patient each, after making complete recoveries.

Accordingly, 663 COVID-19 patients including two foreign nationals are currently receiving medical treatment at nine facilities. 365 persons are held at the Kandakadu Treatment Centre at present.

111 suspected COVID-19 patients are also under medical observation.

Meanwhile, the number of coronavirus cases confirmed in the country has increased to 2,697 after the detection of 10 COVID-19 patients yesterday.
