Economy facing a grave downfall – Premadasa

UTV | COLOMBO – Leader of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya Sajith Premadasa says the country’s economy has faced a grave downfall.

Speaking at a public gathering in Polonnaruwa, former Opposition Leader Premadasa said the people who are facing serious economic difficulties will be granted concessions under an SJB led government.

He noted that people do not have money in hand, factories remain closed, businesses have collapsed, vendors who market their produce are unable to do so and family income has grinded to a halt.

Premadasa therefore stressed that there any many low income families across the country who are struggling with serious difficulties.

The SJB Leader pledged to provide a Rs. 20,000 allowance to all needy families, until the challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic have ended.
