Two Homagama Army officers test positive for Covid-19, seven families quarantined

UTV | COLOMBO – At least 30 persons belonging to seven families in Homagama have been sent for self quarantine after two Army officers from the area who are serving at the Kandakadu Rehabilitation Centre tested positive for Covid-19, Homagama MOH office said.

The two officers from Kendalanda and Godagama tested positive for the virus on Monday after returning from Kandakadu.

Furthermore a doctor and an assistant of a private medical centre and an employee of a jewellery shop in Homagama were also sent for self-quarantine after one of the army officers visited the two places.

Family members and relatives who were in contact with the army officers were taken to a quarantine centre operated by the Army.

PHI of the Homagama Medical Officer of Health (MOH) office Priyantha Wijesuriya said that they will identify and place under self quarantine those who have had contacts with the two officers.
