Education Ministry mulls over closure of schools

UTV | COLOMBO  -All education institutions including schools will have to be closed if the prevailing Covid-19 situation worsens, the Education Ministry announced today.

It said the ministry was concerned with ensuring the health and safety of students, principals, teachers and other staff members.

Hence, the Ministry has taken measures to establish an information centre at the Education Ministry under the advice of the subject Minister Dullas Alahapperuma.

Principals and directors of education can send details regarding the Covid-19 situation of their respective areas to this information centre.
