Will give concessions: Ranil pledges in Athurugiriya

UTV | COLOMBO – UNP Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe today pledged to grant a package of concessions to people if his party was elected to office at the August Parliamentary Election.

Speaking during an election rally in Athurugiriya Mr Wickremesinghe pledged to introduce a system under which he said people would be allowed to pay utility bills in installments.

“The present government which initially said the people will be given a grace period to pay their water and electricity bills have now asked the people to pay bills of three months at once. However, a UNP government will allow the payment of these bills in 12 installments,” he said.

Also he pledged to give a grace period of one year to pay back loans especially that of SMEs. He pledged to re start Enterprise Sri Lanka Programme if he elected to office on August 5.
