272 Lankans stranded in Qatar arrive in the island

UTV | COLOMBO – 272 Sri Lankans stranded in Qatar due to COVID-19 travel restrictions arrived in the island early this morning.

A special SriLankan Airlines flight UL-218 arrived at the Bandaranaike International Airport at 5.40 this morning from Doha, Qatar, with 264 Sri Lankans onboard.

A majority of the group are reportedly Lankan expatriates.

Meanwhile another eight Sri Lankans stranded in Qatar, returned to the island onboard Qatar Airways flight QR-668.

The flight arrived at the BIA at 1.45am. All passengers had been subjected to PCR tests upon arrival.
