An army deserter and two accomplices of underworld gangster ‘Gagana’ who is currently in remand custody, have been arrested during raids at Arawwala in Maharagama yesterday, the STF said.
They said the raids were carried out by the STF Organized Unit following a tip-off.
The STF recovered five fake documents sets and 21 fake rubber seals in a search operation carried out at a residence of a suspect at Arawwala.
Investigation revealed that the army deserter attached to the Sinha Regiment in Ambepussa Army Camp has been AWOL since 2017.
The arrested suspects were handed over to the Maharagama Police for further questioning.
