‘Destabilisation certain if opposition wins election’

(UTV | COLOMBO) – Former Member of Parliament Sisira Jayakody is of the view that a win for the Opposition at the Parliamentary Election, will lead to the destabilisation of the country.

Speaking during a media briefing in Colombo today, Former MP Jayakody said programmes initiated by the President will be derailed if the current Opposition secures victory at the election.

He said therefore the public should reject, what he termed, as the weak and divided Opposition.

He said Opposition parties are also aware that they will not claim a victory at the August General Election, and are therefore making baseless claims at rallies.

Former MP Sisira Jayakody meanwhile requested the public to grant a strong mandate to the present administration in order to take the country forward.

He said in order to resolve the existing complications in the governing structure in the country, the government should receive a two thirds majority power in Parliament.

Former MP Jayakody pledged to resolve all issues of the public after a securing a landslide win at the upcoming General Election.
