‘UNP & SJB focused on post of Opposition Leader’

(UTV | COLOMBO) – Former State Minister Lohan Ratwatte claims the United National Party has no plans in place to protect its own party members.

Speaking to media in Kandy Ratwatte said both the UNP and the Samagi Jana Balawegaya are contesting the upcoming General Election with a focus on the post of Leader of the Opposition.

He said the UNP which is one of the oldest parties in the country, has now split into two different factions under different symbols, adding that innocent UNP members are stranded in between.

While assuming that this would be the final stages of the UNP, he further claimed that both the UNP and Sajith Premadasa’s SJB were behaving like children.

He charged that neither group cared for the public, but were instead focused solely on controlling UNP Headquarters Sirikotha and securing the post of Opposition Leader.
