(UTV | COLOMBO) – The Opposition claims the public is now aware of the failures of the present government.
Speaking to media in Galle, Former Parliamentarian Gayantha Karunathilake said the government is attempting to increase the prices of essential commodities further, following the conclusion of the General Election.
He said the government commenced its election campaign with an aim to claim a two thirds majority in Parliament, and seeking to secure 125 seats.
However, Karunathilake added there are signs that they will face difficulties in securing even 113 seats.
He added the Samagi Jana Balawegaya is growing as an alliance and will be successful.
The Former MP claimed that the cost of living has affected all factions irrespective of whether they are part of the United National Party, the JVP or the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna.
He noted that this government came in to power by deceiving the public, and questioned what the government, that increased prices of goods prior to the General Election, would resort after the conduct of the election.
