(UTV | COLOMBO) – A 50-year old man from Piliyandala was arrested along with the car which had been used for the shooting at an eatery in Soysapura, Moratuwa, Police said.
They said the car and its driver were arrested last night in Piliyandala by the Western Province Intelligence Division officers.
The police launched investigations after a group of gunmen, who arrived in a car opened fire at an eatery in Soysapura on May 29 while three police officers were on duty.
The eatery also came under an attack by an unidentified group wielding swords on May 19.
The Police arrested several suspects over the incident and main suspect in the shooting Pathiranage Raja Wimaladharma alias ‘ Gonakovile Raja’ was shot dead in a confrontation with the police in Minuwangoda.
