Shehan Madushanka remanded till June 23rd

(UTV | COLOMBO) – Cricketer Shehan Madushanka, who was arrested for the possession of heroin, has been further remanded till the 23rd of June.

The order was issued by the Kuliyapitiya Magistrate’s Janani Shashikala Wijethunga.

Shehan Madushanka and another suspect were arrested for the possession of 2 grams and 700 milligrams of heroin in Pannala on the 24th of May following a tip off received by officers of the Pannala Police Crimes Prevention Unit.

Madushanka has been suspended from all forms of cricket by Sri Lanka Cricket.

The cricketer has not appeared for Sri Lanka in the last two years and has not been in the frame for selection recently.

He is, however, an active cricketer and was playing in Sri Lanka’s domestic competitions before COVID-19 curfew came into effect.
