200 complaints over sand sold at high prices

(UTV | COLOMBO) – The Geological Survey and Mines Bureau says around 200 complaints have been lodged pertaining to instances of sand being sold at higher prices within the past 24 hours.

The Chairman of the Bureau Anura Walpola requested via media on Thursday to lodge complaints of incidents of sand being sold at higher prices. The complaints were lodged as of last afternoon.

Walpola stated that the license of person’s illegally selling sand at higher rates will be terminated after an inquiry into the relevant complaint.
