(UTV | COLOMBO) – Minister of Health Pavithra Wanniarachchi says a set of health guidelines in relation to conducting the General Election has been handed over to the National Election Commission.
The Health Minister said guidelines including recommendations on postal voting were handed over to the Commission today.
Speaking to media in Colombo, Minister Wanniarachchi said the Director General of Health Services and a group of officials met with the Election Commission members today.
She said the guidelines include, the manner in which the postal voting process should be conducted, election meetings and canvassing, the voting process on the election day and the counting process.
The Health Minister said with the issuance of the guidelines, the Election Commission is able to take forward the process to conduct the General Election.
