Two more persons test positive for COVID-19

(UTV | COLOMBO) – Another two persons who contracted the coronavirus have been confirmed in the country increasing the number of cases to 1,630.

10 new cases have been identified so far today.

Nine of them are returnees from overseas and the other has been identified as a Navy personnel.

20 individuals who contracted COVID-19 recovered and were discharged from hospitals.

The Epidemiology Unit of the Ministry of Health said the number of persons who recovered after contracting COVID-19 increased to 801 today.

Among the confirmed cases are 759 Navy personnel and 521 Lankan returnees from overseas. Accordingly, 819 COVID-19 patients are currently receiving medical treatment at nine hospitals across the country.

The Epidemiology Unit of the Ministry of Health said 74 suspected COVID-19 cases are also under medical observation at present.

10 deaths in the country have also been linked to COVID-19.
